現在、香港、台湾、シンガポール、ベトナムなど東南アジア、米国、カナダ、ドイツなど全世界規模で、Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)の症例、あるいは疑い症例の報告が相次いでいる。香港をはじめとするSARSの症例報告地域への旅行歴、あるいは旅行した者に密接に接触した者（家族など）で、SARSが疑われる場合には、緊急に対応する必要がある。本項では、医療従事者向けに有用なwebsiteを紹介し、医療従事者の注意を促したい。また、情報は常に更新されているため、最新の情報を下記のホームページなどで、迅速に入手することが必要であることも強調したい。

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This broadcast sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and supported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will provide information on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) reported in patients in Asia, North America, and Europe. This global broadcast will discuss the latest findings regarding the SARS outbreak and prevention of transmission in healthcare settings. The faculty will include representatives from WHO, CDC, and several affected countries who will report their experiences with SARS.

GOAL
To provide the public health and clinical communities basic information regarding the SARS outbreak and guidance to prevent transmission. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the current outbreak of SARS
- Describe strategies to prevent transmission in hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Recognize the need for international cooperation to stop the spread of SARS

INTENDED AUDIENCES
Clinicians, healthcare providers, and public health advisors in countries reporting cases of SARS and others who want knowledge of SARS transmission prevention strategies
