History of JMAJ (2001.4 - 2016.12)
December, 2016 The JMAJ ceased publication.
January, 2015 From JMAJ Vol.58, No.1, the JMAJ continues as a quarterly (4x/year).
January, 2014 The JMAJ joined the PubMed Central (PMC) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine from JMAJ Vol.57, No.1. The JMAJ in paper format ended with this issue.
January, 2007 The publication frequency changed from monthly to bimonthly.
April, 2001 The journal’s title was changed from Asian Medical Journal to Japan Medical Association Journal (JMAJ), from JMAJ Vol.44, No.4. The full text of the JMAJ became available on the JMA’s website.
Mission and Policies
The JMAJ has the mission of broadly informing our medical colleagues throughout the world about medical and health care in Japan and introducing the policies and efforts of the JMA in health care and other related areas.
The JMAJ also reports on the JMA’s international engagement, mainly in the World Medical Association (WMA) and the Confederation of Medical Associations in Asia and Oceania (CMAAO). As the Asian-Pacific Regional Office of the WMA and the Secretariat of the CMAAO, the JMAJ also contributes to the documentation of important activities and policies of these organizations.
Please note that the JMAJ basically publishes invited articles and does not accept submission of papers. Unless specifically stipulated, the views and opinions expressed in the scientific papers do not reflect those of the JMA.
